DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE COLLEGE AREA COMMUNITY GARDEN (CACG):

  • The garden is located next door to San Diego State University Children's Center which is at the north end of SDSU parking lot 2C. Access to our garden is from a SDSU street called "Zura Way" which begins in the 6300 block of Montezuma Road, 92115. Proceed north on "Zura Way" to SDSU parking lot "2C."

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION:

  • PARKING:
    Parking is available in front of the garden (without a school permit) in parking lot 2C. There are about 50 spaces available, including handicap parking and electric vehicle charging stations. Additionally, there is a larger, overflow parking lot about a 2-minute walk from the garden, Lot 3. You will need to visit the pay station self-service kiosk in the lot or PayByPhone app to pay for parking. 30-minute, hourly, and day rates are available
  • TROLLEY:
    Take the Green Line to SDSU campus
  • BUS:
    Buses stop on the SDSU Transit Center's street level mezzanine. From the six bus routes that currently service the campus - 11, 14, 115, 856, 936, and 955, and MTS Rapid Route 215 - you can transfer to anywhere in the San Diego area. All buses on SDSU's routes are "bike buses" and provide wheelchair life service. Enter your start location and SDSU as the destination in this MTS trip planner, which will show you available MTS routes to get to campus.

MORE INFORMATION

  • All Ages: Children are welcome with adult supervision.
  • Food & Drinks: Please plan ahead for a day outdoors with your own drinks and snacks. There will be a water-filling station available for your water bottles.
  • Pets: Please, no pets allowed. The CACG space contains edible food growing, therefore we need to make sure no animal biologicals contaminate the garden. Thank you!
  • Other Amenities:
    • The CACG has some shade and limited seating. You may bring a folding chair or stool should you need to sit.
    • Expect bark-covered paths for our visitors of varied ambulatory abilities.
    • There is an ADA-compliant portable bathroom and handwashing station on site.
  • Free Tool Sharpening: UCCE Master Gardeners of San Diego County will clean and sharpen one pair of pruners or loppers for free. Pruners and loppers must be in good working condition (minimal rust, close smoothly, no divots in blade). First come, first served for the first 40 pruners or loppers. Please no serrated blades or blades longer than four inches.
  • Shoppers: Consider bringing reusable bags for your treasures! We will have Master Gardeners available with wagons to help you out to your car with larger or heavier items.
  • Workshops: We are excited to start on time! No videography please.
